One of Mother Nature’s Urgent Warnings in 2024 was an increase in the frequency and intensity of tropical storms, which displaced millions of people and cost billions of dollars in damage. Climate change increased wind speeds for every 2024 Atlantic hurricane, according to new analysis released by Climate Central. “We know that the warming temperatures out there in the Gulf are affecting these hurricanes.” According to the Hurricane Wind Scale, wind speeds of 200 km/hr. And this was true for Super Typhoon Man-yi, which killed 12 people and left thousands homeless.

In December 2024, Tropical Cyclone Chido hit the French island chain of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean. The hunt for survivors is underway, but this is looking like a recovery mission, and there are fears that up to 1,000 people may be dead in what's being described as the worst Cyclone to hit the Indian Ocean in 90 years. Cyclone Chido also struck nearby Mozambique, drenching some areas with 250 millimeters of rain in 24 hours, with wind gusts up to 260 km/hr.

Numerous scientific studies have shown that the animal-people livestock industry is the primary driver of climate change. Our Most Courageous Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has frequently reminded us that the only solution is a global shift to the vegan lifestyle. “We must, first of all and the most important thing, we have to stop global warming by choosing a sustainable diet that is vegan. This will almost immediately stabilize the planet, the weather, and then we can think about adapting to the changes. […] It’s a very sad affair and very urgent.”
